Watercolors express a fleeting moment; gentle, sweet and melancholic. Thanks to the speed of the technique, it is possible to fix a moment of particular light, a situation hanging between harmony and intensity, unrepeatable and integral at least in its sentiments. The solitude and the enchantment of certain landscapes, or the emotive participation transmitted by certain expressions of a face or body, asking to be stopped – traces on a piece of paper – asking what was happening in that place, how short or large the light was in that route under that sky.
The colours are clear, sometimes just touches or breezes, because the white swallows up or waits to then transform in other meanings. There is also the deep blue of a thick sea, certain of an identity which subsists. Other traces are sometimes put on purpose: they are sketches in crayon, in China ink or charcoal, to define or to hatch as an indication, a hint.
